Interior designers in South Delhi

South Delhi is where our studio has been since 2009 – D-229, Sarvodya Enclave, next to Hauz Khas – and where most of our Delhi homes stand. We have designed more than a hundred builder-floor residences and private houses in Vasant Vihar, Shanti Niketan, Anand Niketan, Greater Kailash, Hauz Khas, Defence Colony, Panchsheel, Gulmohar Park, Jor Bagh and the colonies around them, working with developers such as Uppal Group, Salcon and Metro Buildtech and with families directly.

Our own home in the neighbourhood, The Grey Apartment, is a 2,400 sq ft apartment in exposed concrete, stone and brass that has been featured in design publications; Box Villa and The Green Terraces in Shanti Niketan show the other end of the scale.

A South Delhi builder floor is a particular kind of home: a fixed plot, a shared stair and lift, setbacks on every side and a buyer who decides in one visit. We design the floor plan, the façade and the interiors as one piece of work, so the entrance has a foyer, the living room has a view, the kitchen gets daylight and the bedrooms are quiet.

For developers this means floors that photograph well and sell faster; for families it means a home that will still work when the children are grown.

For an apartment or an existing house we start with the plan – what can move, what cannot – then light, then materials. We draw ceilings and lighting, kitchens, wardrobes, bathrooms, stone layouts and furniture in enough detail for a contractor to price and build accurately. Our material palette for Delhi homes leans on Indian marble and stone, veneer and solid-wood joinery, brass detailing and bespoke lighting, chosen to age well in the city’s climate.

We also design offices and retail interiors in South Delhi, including the Opulo flagship stores, with the same planning-first approach: the customer’s route, the display, the lighting and the back-of-house before the finishes.

Design usually takes six to ten weeks from brief to approved drawings; execution of a 3–4 bedroom floor or apartment four to six months, depending on joinery and stone lead times. Fees are agreed per project and cover the plan, the drawings for everything that will be built, a material board, a cost estimate and site supervision by our engineers.
