Jodhpur’s furniture and handicraft exporters need offices that work hard and show well to visiting buyers. We have designed corporate offices for Thar Art Exports, Cross Country, Shree Bhikshu Art Exim and Shree Ram International, each with a reception and display spaces that present the company’s own products.

Our office work covers planning, façade, interiors, lighting and furniture, with air-conditioning and daylight planned together for the Jodhpur climate.

A buyer flying in from Europe or America should walk from the gate to the display suite without seeing the loading bay. We plan the visitor route first – arrival, reception, meeting rooms, product display – and the working office and sampling areas behind it, with their own access. Daylight and air-conditioning are planned together, because a Jodhpur office spends half the year keeping the sun out.

Display is part of the architecture: the company’s own furniture, textiles or handicrafts are shown in rooms designed for them, with lighting that makes the product look as it will in a client’s showroom abroad.

Thar Art Exports, Cross Country, Shree Bhikshu Art Exim and Shree Ram International each came to us with a working business and a plot or an existing building. We start with a site visit and a brief, prepare plans, 3D views and an estimate, and then detailed drawings for structure, services, interiors and furniture. Our site engineers are in Jodhpur through construction.

Several of these offices were designed with later expansion in mind – an extra floor, a second display suite – so the business can grow without moving.

An office façade in Jodhpur has to do three things: give the company a presence on the street, keep the afternoon sun off the glass, and be built in materials the city’s craftsmen know. Sandstone fins and jaali screens, deep reveals and planted terraces do most of the work; air-conditioning loads fall and the rooms stay bright without glare. Services – power backup, data, fire and water – are planned into the structure from the start so ceilings stay clean.
