The brief
A contemporary family home on a 5,310 sq ft plot in Jodhpur, with 9,240 sq ft of living space.
The idea
Stack the house as a series of volumes, each shifted to create shade, terraces and views. The dark exterior gives the composition weight; generous glazing and stepped garden levels let the interiors open outwards.
Making it
Ar. Rakesh Sharma walks through the finished house in the film below – from the stepped entrance garden to the double-height living spaces.
